HONDURAN MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Today some of our 10 returning missionaries from Honduras will share personal "snapshots" of their most memorable impressions of God’s work there. So much more could be shared about our time with the Honduran people in the mountains of Copan—ask any of us: Eugene Moffit, Wayne or Lisa Tate, J. L. Franks, Sylvester Savage, Elias Garcia, Jeff or Coleman Barker, Courtney or Chris Buskirk. Our team and the locals worked like Trojans to complete Templo Asamblea De Dios. The results were simply beautiful, leaving Pastor Carlos moved beyond words at the opening celebration. All of us were witnesses to the incredible power of what God can bring together—we sensed it singing Alleluia, spiritual family, whatever our language. The small but vibrant congregation had been without a meeting place for years since an earthquake had crumbled a smaller and inferior adobe structure at the same sight. Also, in just five days, our servants in the mobile healthcare clinic treated 1,237 natives in the surrounding area (618 medical, 139 dental, and 134 optical) with 62 decisions for Christ (38 renewals, and 24 new disciples). Our hearts are full of heart-felt appreciation for the priveledge of going as ambassadors of Christ and Abiding Harvest. We are reminded; God doesn’t build His church, here or in Honduras, with only bricks and mortar, but by His Spirit and through His people. What an honor!
