The Nine

      “Your word I have hidden in my heart . . .” – Psalm 119:11

On Sunday mornings at nine o’clock, the youth have an in-depth bible study where we seek to discover every nugget of gold that we can from scripture. We discuss the good, the crazy and the uncomfortable of the bible, not avoiding controversial issues, but seeking in everything what God has revealed to us about Himself in each passage. Each session closes with a practical application of how we can apply God’s word to our lives and our relationship with Him.
Beginning in March 8th, 09’, we will be studying the gospel of John. We will see how Jesus is not just a prophet but actually God in the flesh, how he is the light of the world, and how the world which He created did not know Him. Throughout the book of John, Jesus uses the Jewish traditions, feasts, and understandings to repeatedly testify to who He is. We will also see how the book of John is written in a court case formatting for a very specific purpose . . . to bring the reader to belief in the Son of God. This is an opportunity and a study you do not want to miss!

AhYEAH Sunday Nights
(Abiding Harvest Youth Extreme About Him)

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.”- Matthew 10:27

On Sunday evenings at five o’clock, we also have a youth geared service where we freely worship our Lord, and learn to “Live Life Stoked!” From 5:00 to 5:45ish we have a meal or snacks and then move into the sanctuary. It’s beautiful to see teenagers fan out across the sanctuary to find a place to be alone with God during worship. God truly opens up His arms to us when we come and, wanting nothing for ourselves, give Him glory, honor and praise.
During this fall and winter season the theme of AhYEAH is “Living Life Stoked!” The term stoked means to blow air under a fire to energize and explode it with power. In Acts chapter two, when the disciples were praying in unity, there came a sound like a mighty rushing “WIND,” and there were above each of them tongues of “FIRE.” God was stoking His people. Following this series, we take a look at people in the bible that lived life stoked for Him. We look at their lives, ministry, and enthusiasm. Then, we take a look at a certain virtue which can be applied practically in our daily lives. How can we Live Life Stoked like them?
Afterwards, we divide into small groups led by Core leaders, usually between older and younger girls and likewise with the boys. The small group leaders then put forward questions that take the message even deeper and more applicable. This gives opportunity for deeper discussion with appropriate age groups on more sensitive issues that teens face. This is a wonderful opportunity to make friends, and have a fellowship of believers to share and learn with.

Fantastic Friday on Wednesdays - 7:00 p.m.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heaven laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

DURING THE FIRST FEW MONTHS OF 2009, THE YOUTH OF ABIDING HARVEST ARE LISTENINGING TO THE AUDIO BOOK OF 'THE SHACK' AND PARTICIPATING IN MEANINGFUL DISCUSSION. YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS IT.

Here is an opportunity in the middle of the sometimes long and strenuous week to be refreshed, to be surrounded with fellow believers, and have some light hearted fun. The purpose of this hang-out time is to enjoy a piece of the relief of Friday on a Wednesday night. This is the service that sold out believers and those who are totally-not-all-about-this-God-stuff can come and feel comfortable with youth who will love and accept them. This is the chance to bring your friend who is seeking, but withdraws at the mention of church.
We get together in the youth room to have a couple songs that tell God how awesome He is, and have a brief interactive discussion on living for Him. We then play games that may or may not have relevance to the point of the discussion, and simply have fellowship.
